What I Have Learned

Today, I have learned that when you enforce tidiness upon people, their will not be more effective or the opposite they become ineffective.

Currently, I read the book: Messy - How To be Creative and Resilient in a Tidy-Minded World, Tim Harford, one remarkable note on workspaces: I’ve learned that enforced tidiness in an environment that enforces such rules, people might feel more demotivated.

Specify when companies foster a tidy-culture like S5: “Sort, Straighen, Shine, Standardize and Sustain”, it might lead to a feeling of disempowerment. People have the need for some freedom to be messy, to have a work environment that works well for them.
